摘要

Reliable metal loss data of pipelines are important for the evaluation of economic risks from corrosion. Therefore, two sets of data were collected from four pipelines inspected with Magnetic Flux (MFI) and Ultrasonic instruments (UI), respectively. The expected measurements (UI) were classified and processes statistically by Descriptive Statistics and Linear Regression, and compared with the observed measurements (MFI), both data for the same corrosion defect points. Significant variations of the mean and standard deviations of metal loss percent were observed for each set of data as breakdowns and grouped by defect position. Furthermore, linear correlation of two set of data with an equation y= a*x + b, means the introduction of a dephasing factor between data.
