The performance and quality of the AATSR instrumentrnand products are routinely assessed by the IDEAS team.rnThe main objective is to detect, investigate and close outrnany anomalies occurring either on-board or within thernground segment. This information is then conveyed tornthe scientific and user community in order to allowrnthem to utilise AATSR data with confidence. This paperrnpresents details of the activities performed duringrnroutine operations and goes on to describe how these arernadapted to ensure that reprocessed AATSR data meetsrnits quality requirements. This is expected to be ofrnparticular interest given the activities under way for thernthird reprocessing of AATSR; this paper also sets outrnthe objectives for this reprocessing.
