摘要

Color centers in alkali halide crystals have been studied since long time and nowadays it is commonly considered a rather mature field. However, far from being exhausted it is still producin new and unexpected results, which are relevant not only for fundamental research, an already well known aspect of color centers as model case for other more complex defect centers, but also for applicative developments. In this paper only F_A, F_H, and F_3~+ color centers will be considered in some detail, but they will shjow that this old field of solid state physics is sell alive and that new and important results are expected from systematic and dedicated studies.
