At the stage of waterflooding development, massive channels in the reservoir refer to the preferential channels for fluid flowing through porous media. Identification of massive channels is a systematic engineering that requires the integrated analysis of performance data, static data, logging and testing data. Three aspects, the determination of optimizing program and process for identifying massive channels, the setting of standards for identifying massive channel zones and the field experiment comparison, are demonstrated in the paper to present an approach to precisely identify the reservoir with massive channels.
