The casing deformation and damage is a severe threat to oilfield routine production, which has drawn more attention in the oilfields inside and outside China. The reasons for casing damages are closely related to the stress-field state. This paper studies Pubei fault block II of Daqing oilfield. Utilizing caliper deformation data, the circumferential stress of casing-damaged well is calculated indirectly. The stress-field of the block is inversed with finite element method and least square method. The casing load dangerous degree is analyzed on the basis of stress-field study. From the dangerous degree of casing load we can see, the casing damages are usually generated near the pay zone. This is in agreement with the casing-damage distribution of Pubei fault block II. The study results about stress-field distribution and casing damages distribution are valuable for recognizing and dealing with areal casing damages.
