Even though there are a lot of fault diagnosis methods for pure analog circuits or pure digital circuits are proposed, but they can't be used directly in mixed circuits fault diagnosis. So mixed circuits fault diagnosis is in urgent need in engineering applications and in theory. A new fault diagnosis method(sub-networks tearing method) for mixed circuits is proposed in this paper, the principle of this new approach is based on substitution theorem of circuit theory. Via analyzing the types of mixed circuits, 1- time and N- times simulation fault diagnosis methods are proposed for different mixed circuits. Conclusions of this paper are important both in fault diagnosis theory and engineering applications.
