A novel technique for measuring electrochemical impendence is described, in which a static potential and a small potential step are applied to a working electrode. Fourier transform of the response signal thus obtained provides ac current in the frequency domain, which is employed to calculate the impendence of an electrochemical system in the whole frequency range. A flexible system for these measurements has been constructed. The advantage of this techniques is an extremely short time for impendence measurements over a range of frequencies (0.01 Hz―150KHz). Preliminary tests of the system showed good agreement with theory.
