Dew point is the temperature at which water vapor undergoes a change in state from gas to liquid. PPMw, PPMv, absolute humidity, and similar are measurements of the abundance of water in a process gas. Gas-specific lab data is needed to convert from one measurement to the other. On natural gas streams, lab data does not exist below -40℃. Whenever dew points beyond the limits of experimentally derived data are reported, it is important to understand that the analyzer is reporting a guess based upon some manufacturer-specific algorithm. There is no possible means of verifying the accuracy of a guess short of experimentally confirming the data. By the way, if you are beginning to think that using a chilled mirror device is the best way to measure the moisture dew point, beware! The dew point detected by a chilled mirror is the temperature at which dew first forms, but; the dew may not be water.
