Beam strength, flexural load at fracture, initial load at fracture, and work of fracture were established for ten fiber loaded samples in addition to plain CPC. It was shown that loading CPC with short bioabsorbable fibers gives a significant increase in both bending strength and work of fracture. This testing also demonstrates a clear correlation between increasing fiber loading level and increasing strength and work of fracture up through 4% loading of 1mm fibers. Blending 1mm fibers with longer fibers (2mm and 4mm) was shown to give little or no improvement in strength and work of fracture over the use of 1mm fibers only.
