摘要

The initial hardware and instrumentation implementation phase of a permanent ambient response (output-only) bridge monitoring system is describe in this paper. The system was installed on a short two-span monolithic slab reinforced concrete bridge and consisted of a distributed accelerometer network connected in a star configuration to a local field acquisition system. Valid high speed point-in-time response data was automatically recorded three times per day and stored on-site. A remote off-site personal computer was used to automatically collect data for further processing and storage from the field instrumentation via an analog modem connection. The point-in-time datasets consisted of multiple near synchronous (burst mode) acceleration time traces from twenty-eight single and bi-axial response locations on the underside of the bridge deck. Experimental and numerically simulated dynamic characteristics of the bridge are also presented along with selected response characteristics collected over a three month startup period.
