1) Friction of PEEK-CF composite is sensitive to the humidity of ambient gas. The friction coefficient was decreased to 0.17 from an initial 0.25 by changing the humidity of surrounding air to below 2% RH from 40% RH. This reaction of friction against the air humidity was repeated when we supplied humid air and dry air alternately to a frictional interface.
