摘要

A persistent barrier for consumer acceptance of solar domestic water heating (SDWH) systems is the perception than they are unreliable and that their service life is significantly less than that claimed by the industry. To obtain a more accurate industry perspective, a comprehensive survey was developed to identify and define the relevant durability and reliability issues that affect the long-term performance of SDWH systems. Opions about the reliability of SDWH system components were obtained from 28 professionals, service contractors, and installers of solar domestic water heating systems. All individuals that participated in the survey had had significant field experience. This paper describes the survey and the survey methodology as well as the results and conclusions.
