This presentation describes the progress of a Phase Ⅱ SBIR being performed by Corcoran Engineering Inc. for NSWC to develop a high-power phase-locked fiber-laser array. The technique uses an external cavity with feedback in the Fourier plane. The design of the compact array is presented in Figure 1. In this design, an array of fiber lasers (with their individual feedback reflectors removed) is coupled into the external cavity with spacing d. Note that F is the effective round-trip focal length of this lens. This new design uses the same operating principles as previously demonstrated designs, except that the Fourier plane is overlaid back on the input plane of the external cavity.
