In recent years, aptamer-based biosensors have aroused great interest in detecting different targets, such as proteins, peptides and whole cells. In contrast to antibodies-based biosensors, the selected aptamer can be synthesized with high reproducibility. Also, aptamers are usually chemically stable. In this study, we demonstrated HIV-1 RT-specific aptamers-immobilized AlGaN/GaN high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs) for detecting different concentrations of HIV-1 RT protein ranging from 1 fM to 10 pM in physiological salt concentrations.
