摘要

The City of Albuquerque and AlliedSignal Power Systems are currently entering Phase III of the Pilot Study. The City is committed to continue with RENEW as a yearly event highlighted during the Kodak Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Furthermore, the City has pledged to assist the State Legislature with "green power" legislation and to advise the Municipal League about this demonstration project to assist other municipalities with landfill gas issues. This project, spearheaded by the City and AlliedSignal, made use of an innovative technology to beneficially use landfill gas as a renewable resource. The City and AlliedSignal set a community example by providing access to a less expensive source of energy while keeping local air cleaner and safer. The City of Albuquerque is working with local industry to further sustainable growth practices in Albuquerque. As Albuquerque's population continues to grow the city is taking the steps necessary to ensure that real-world environmental solutions accompany economic development.
