The Ohio Aerospace Instutue and the NASA Lewis Presearch Center are designing and building a solar-cell calibration faclity, the Photovoltaic Engineering Testbed (PET) to fly on the International Space Statoin to calibrate, measure, and qualify advanced solar cell types in the space environment. PET will serve three primary functions: calibration, measurement, and qualification of solar cells, in order to bring new solar cell technologies to spaceflight readiness.
