An important method to increase the recovery of reservoirs isrnASP (alkaline/surfactant/polymer) flooding to lower the IFTrn(interfacial tension) between the crude oil and displacing fluidrnto an ultra-low value (<10-3 mN/m) to increase therndisplacement efficiency and at the same time to increase thernviscosity of the displacing fluid in order to increase thernvolumetric sweep efficiency. However, the alkaline in thernASP fluid makes it difficult to increase the viscosity byrnpolymers. Therefor, experiments were performed by addingrnnatural gas to the ASP fluid to form an ASP foam (ASPF)rndisplacing fluid. This ASPF fluid should have therncharacteristics of an ultra-low IFT, high displacementrnefficiency and also low mobility, which should increase thernvolumetric sweep efficiency also.rnThis paper introduces the results of ASPF tests in thernlaboratory and field. The experimental results in the labrninclude the foaming ability of the ASPF, the stability of thernfoam, its IFT, resistance to flow in cores, the incrementalrnrecovery of cores of different heterogeneity and thernrelationship between incremental recovery and residual oilrnsaturation and polymer concentration. The field results includernreservoir description, well pattern, composition of the injectedrnASPF, injection and production conditions and problemsrnencountered.rnGood results were obtained in the field. The current recoveryrnfactor is already 65.6% OOIP. The final recovery is estimatedrnto reach 71.3% OOIP.
