摘要

Basell has recently built a new plant in Moerdijk, the Netherlands, with an entirely new technology to produce novel PB-1 resins particularly suited for the film market. In this paper, we will review the product portfolio and highlight the unique properties of PB-1 which make them suitable for use in commercial applications. The focus will be on illustrating the role of PB-1 as a modifier of the end performance of advanced film products. Specifically, we will illustrate how PB-1 is successfully used in Easy Opening Packaging and as a modifier of PP for applications requiring very low sealing initiation temperature and a broad sealing window. With this technology, a LSIT as low as 60℃ (140℉) can be achieved for BOPP film.
