Personal Watercraft (PW or PWC), speedy responsive performers, already used by responders, military, recreationalrnusers and rescue services around the world e.g. Queensland, Australia, Hawaii, USA, Europe and the Police, Fire,rnArmed Forces, Rescue and RNLI organizations in the United Kingdom, Netherlands and elsewhere, with many otherrnprofessionals increasingly choosing modified PWs for their needs.rnCase studies of e.g. Police PWC use during the 2012 Olympics and by other professional end-users will illustrate thernexamination of some areas such as:rn1.Risk assessmentsrn2.Operational environmentrn3.Navigation requirementsrn4.Adaptations for patrol and interdiction work etc.rn5.Durability and equipment platformrn6.Fitness for purposern7.Operations grounded on Training Needs AnalysisrnThis paper will examine some of the issues and conclude with the author’s opinions and evaluation and on the basis ofrnthe information made known and available for publication in the wider domain during the research conducted.
