摘要

The recent progress on metabolic systems engineering in particular metabolic flux analysis (MFA) based on the isotopomer distribution obtained using NMR and/or GC-MS was reviewed. After the brief explanation on how to estimate the metabolic flux distribution (MFD), the comparison was made between MFD and gene and protein expressions for cyanobacteria and Escherichia coli to investigate the metabolic regulation. The integration of these information was found to be very important to uncover the metabolic regulation of microorganisms in relation to the genetic change and/ or the change in the culture condition.
