Valmet, Inc., recently formed a business unit specifically dedicated to the nonwovens machinery market. This unit combines the nonwovens machinery businesses of the Sandy Hill and Honeycomb Systems divisions in addition to the auxiliary equipment furnished by other Valmet divisions. The new business unit has the ability to supply nonwovens processes and machine lines complete with process control systems and other auxiliary equipment. We will emphasize the recent developments in hydraulic headboxes for wet-laid nonwovens process formers giving production rates and speeds double those previously possible. The combining of the web handling technology of Honeycomb Systems with Sandy Hill has permitted these increased speeds to be realized on production lines, not just in the laboratory. This synergy of technologies and groups into a unit specifically dedicated to the nonwovens industry will have many benefits for our customers, the roll goods manufacturers.
