The state of stickies in deinked pulp is discussed. New information about the size, characteristics and chemical con trol of micro and secondary stickies in deinked pulp is presented. This knowledge is useful in focusing stickies con trol methods on the right pulp fraction. A new analytical procedure for determining stickies in deinked pulp or de posit was used in the study. The method consists of extraction with tetrahydrofuran followed by HPLC-SEC and ELS detector.
