This paper presents new online technology that measures visible dirt specks to Tappi Standard Method T563 on machines running up to 400m/min. The technology has been tested in a mill environment and analyzes 1m~2 of pulp every 40 seconds to a minimum speck size of 0.016mm~2. The results are presented as physical and TAPPI EBA for number of specks per m~2 and PPM, (mm~2 /m~2).
