In a previous paper, a general theory for gas production duringrnSteam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) has beenrnpresented1. The main gases formed during “aquathermolysis”rnreactions, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide, tend to bernproduced primarily via the produced water.rnThe present paper reports a numerical analysis of therntheory, and provides the results of a first simulation thatrndescribe the gas production history during SAGD. Thernnumerical analysis includes hydrogen sulphide, carbonrndioxide, and methane solution gas.rnGases were included in the numerical analysis by using Kvaluesrnderived from new theory. This theory accounts for thernasymptotic behaviour of gases in solution as the critical pointrnof water is approached.rnSimulation results corroborate the initial simple analysis,rnand agree with field observation. Minor differences arerndiscussed.
