Open hole formation evaluation logs are not run where thernperceived benefits are marginal. In many horizontal wells, thernbenefits are not fully assessed because cost and/or accessrndifficulties override other considerations. In these cases, subseismicrnlateral variations in reservoir properties can only berninferred - they are rarely measured. Small diameter batterypoweredrnlogging tools operating without a wireline haverncollected high quality data in a broad range of high anglernsituations. Wireless conveyance techniques are faster and saferrnthan wireline pipe conveyed logging, and have cost, accessrnand data quality benefits over logging while drilling (LWD).rnWireless tools have been conveyed in and on drill pipe, onrncoiled tubing without an electric line, and as part of a modifiedrncasing string. The tools can be deployed safely inrnunderbalanced wells.
