Employment and Career Structure of the Kavala Institute of Technology (DASTA)

-There are three levels of institutionalized education in Greece: primary, secondary and tertiary education. Higher education is divided in accordance with the Bologna Declaration in three cycles. The three cycles are the bachelor, the MSc and PhD qualifications. In Greece, higher education is offered by the Universities and Institutes of Technology. In Institutes of Technology, internships in a field relevant to the student's field of study are necessary to get a degree [1]. For the connection of the Institutes of technology with the workplace and to help integrate the student in job, internship and graduate programs searching as well as to support entrepreneurship, the Employment and Career Structure (DASTA) has been created. The purpose of this paper is to present DASTA and its integrated information system and services provided through it, both for students and businesses through the prism of higher education. Its innovation lies in the fact that for the first time ever in higher education in Greece and in the framework of connecting employment with lifelong learning, an information system that will gather all this information is implemented.
