摘要

INFUSE~(TM) olefin block copolymers (OBCs) are the newest members of the polyolefin elastomer family. OBCs exhibit a unique combination of hard and soft segments which allow them to break the traditional relationship of flexibility and heat resistance, while offering significantly improved compression set and elastic recovery properties compared to traditional random copolymer elastomers. This paper will discuss how the unique attributes of OBCs are further enhanced and modified by formulating them with oil, filler and other thermoplastic resins in order to achieve desired properties for high performance thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compound applications. The performance of two OBC resins is compared to a commonly used partially hydrogenated styrenic block copolymer (SBC) resin. The OBCs can be formulated to show unique compression set properties at various levels of oil, filler and other thermoplastic resins.
