摘要

High rock slopes of the Three Gorges permanent navigation lock feature a large engineering scale, complicated structural configuration, very deep excavation in rock mass with consequent ground stress releases and rock mass deformation and use of the slope rock as a structural component of lock chamber side walls. Based on comprehensive properties and navigation lock operation requirements, the design criteria, design standards, design conditions, calculation methods and analysis methods for the navigation lock high slope project are established to provide a good guidance for preparation of the high slope basic design scheme. The prepared scheme is then successfully implemented for the project construction to address different kinds of technical difficulties that emerge during the construction process and to ensure the smooth completion of the navigation lock high slope project. The present article sums up all related studies and the basic strategy of the adopted high slope dynamic design strategy and its implementation experience which can serve as good reference for other high slope projects.
