In this paper,a new mehtod is presented for predicting the transmission Loss(TL) of exhaust mufflers for reciprocating comressors and internal combustion (IC) engines.The method is based on a comprehensive analysis of aero-dynamic and acoustic characteristics,and it takes account of the influence of flucturating flow on the propagation of acoustic wae in the compressor exhaust pipe an dmuffler.The predicted results are in good agreement with experiment measurements.
