A rotating PC-PIV (Personal Computer aided Particle Image Vilocimetry) system was successfully used for the measurement of the relative flow in an impleller passage rotating at low speed.The interpretation fo the data and hte effect of the digital image compression are discussed.For higher rotational speed.PIV system should be used in a stationary coordinate system.Several examples in the literature are reviewed.and the current trends are discussed.The porblems associated with the measurement of unsteady flow aer also discussed.
