Pressure fluctuation emasurement and flow visualizatin were made in a slurry pump impeller for the range of volumetric particle concentratin from 0 to 20 percent.Test particles ar four beads of 2.0 mm and 4.0 mm in a veraged diameter,and 1180 and 1930 kg/m~3 in density.The distributions of pressure and its fluctuations were measured in the test open impeller using phase locked ensemble averaging technique.A nonuniform blade-to-blade distribution of solid particles was observed in the particle images recorded by CCD camera.The measured pressure distributions are related to the particle concentration distributions,and hte influence of solid particles on flow phenomena and pump performance were confirmed.
