When infrastructure components show historical and/or architectural value, a special retrofitting policy is required. Its main features are the need of a prioritization scheme which accounts for intangible aspects and a deep exploitation of the available information in terms of database and geographical representation. Prioritization identifies the structural components which require a retrofitting and their rank order based on vulnerability and importance evaluation.
