The strain energy of a 4-fiber ribbon in a SZ slotted rod was calculated to determine the most suitable state to accommodate the ribbon. On the basis of this study, SZ slotted rod cables which have high-strength-sheath with excess cable length relative to suspensin member were manufactured, and excellent characteristics were obtained as a result.
