Sustainability and energyrnmanagement are broad topics which havernbecome a common focus in industry.rnRecognizing the need for greater cost reductionrnand competitive advantage throughrnsustainability, industry is putting forthrnresources to improve energy managementrncontrols. When the topic of energyrnmanagement relates to steam trap managementrnhowever, the focus becomes less clear andrnaction less notable. The seemingly “lowrnhanging” fruit of steam traps are not often tiedrnto significant and sustainable energyrnmanagement projects. Typically this holds truernbecause of the failure of industry to put a valuernon the cost of steam and because of the lack ofrnenergy tracking from failed steam traps as partrnof best practice. The use of technology canrnhelp industry transform how steam systems arernmanaged and sustainability in steam systems isrnachieved.
