摘要

The relationship between microstructure and mechanical properties of UFG materials processed by ECAP was addressed based on the experimental results along with several recent literature sources. In the first part, the general trend of the variation of the strength with the grain size was reviewed. In the second part, the utilization of nano-sized precipitates on enhancing strain hardening of the UFG steels was demonstrated. Finally, the effect of initial boundary misorientation distribution induced by different ECAP strains on the deformation mechanisms of the UFG 5083 Al alloy at low temperature superplastic temperature was presented.
