This article takes Shen-Da motorway as an study object. First, it makes statistics and analysis of the causes of 452 traffic accidents during 1994-1995, and also has discussions and analysis related to the effects of road conditions on traffic accidents. Second, the rate of motorway accidents is compared and analyzed between that in Japan and the U.S.A. And last, a research is done into the causes of traffic accidents in Hou Yan toll-station - the blacks pot, and appropriate countermeasures are suggested.
