摘要

Moste hydro power plant is the only storage power plant in Slovenia that contributes a considerable portion to peak energy generation. A revitalisation of the hydro energy system is urgent in view of the power plant's age and obsoleteness of the equipment. Further power plant operation would require immediate rehabilitation measures to be taken: refurbishment and uprating of the power plant with simultaneous solving of urgent environmental problems in the surrounding area of the storage reservoir. The uprated Moste hydro power plant will receive a new significance in the region as a power plant that ensures with its operation the preservation of environmental equilibrium with an impact on a wider area. The value of the project will be reflected in the: (1) better power supply to the consumers in the region; (2) environmental rehabilitation of the area of influence and of the storage reservoir which has been strongly degraded due to the emissions from industry in the hinterland; (3) mitigation of the degradation processes in the river bed under the dam by constructing a compensation reservoir; (4) preservation of biotic heterogeneity in the area by creating new marshy biotopes and protecting all other biotopes in the wider area of influence; (5) enhancement of tourism.
