摘要

The precision of the measured moment of inertia can not be more precise than the uncertainty associated with the calibration of thernmeasurement device and the measurement of the object's mass. Currently only the calibration phase of the measurement phase has been conducted. The preliminary results indicate a repeatable precision on the order of a few parts in 10~4 for the calibration process, suggesting the measurement apparatus could be capable of near state of the art precision. The current repeatability of the frequency measurements leads us to believe that there is a possibility for improvement of the current state of the art. It should be noted that a full error analysis on the acquired data has not been completed. As such the preliminary results can only give insight into the repeatability of the measurements and not a true representation for the accuracy of the measurements.
