This paper describes the development of SiNAV~(TM)-BAE SYSTEMS' integrated MEMS-based inertial sensor/GPS navigation systems. Underlying MEMS capability is outlined, and the significance of this technology as a component in low-cost, miniature and gun-hard navigation systems is described. A series of BAE SYSTEMS' integrated inertial sensor/GPS systems are described, in accordance with the SiNAV? development routemap. This commences with first-generation, loosely-coupled systems, to higher performance, closely-coupled systems being developed today for tactical missiles and UAVs, culminating in deeply-integrated, gun-hard high anti-jam systems for guided projectiles. All phases of SiNAV~(TM) employ a modular and flexible Kalman filter. This, in addition to the potential for exploiting this flexibility by employing alternative aiding sources, is described.
