1. Short-cut nitrification and denitritation (SCND) with external carbon source is solid and reliable process to treat liquid effluents originated from anaerobic (co)digestion; 2. The short-chain fatty acids produced by the fermentation of biowaste available in WWTPs may enhance the simultaneous biological removal of nitrogen and phosphorus via-nitrite pathway. 3.
