The obtained results demonstrate the applicability of in vitro and in vivo ecotoxicological bioassays for the toxicity assessment of treated wastewaters and for the assessmsent of eventual toxicity phenomena in soils irrigated with treated wastewaters. They provide an integrated measure of the biological effects of bioavailable chemicals that can be present in waste waters.
