摘要

To better utilise the information in the high-resolutionnsmall-blocks of an image it is necessary to generate accurate estimatesnof the motion. We present a bottom-up multiresolution block matchingntechnique. We first compute a set of candidate motion vectors for eachncomparatively small block. We then take an intersection of these sets ofnneighbouring blocks. The resulting set is the set of candidate motionnvectors for the larger block that encompasses the neighbouring blocks.nThis way, it preserves the motion information extracted at highnresolution and uses the information at low resolutions only selectivelynto improve the motion estimates
