This paper presents construction experiments of test soils for shaking table tests, especially for large-scalesoil model liquefaction-related shaking table tests. In liquefaction-related shaking table tests using largescalesand boxes, quality control of saturated sands is one of critical issues. The target is to makehomogeneous saturated sand soils. Soil models were arranged by scattering sand through developedapparatus on a vibrating screen in the water of a steel box (length 6 meters, width 3 meters and height 2.5meters). The study consists experiments Ⅰ and Ⅱ. In the experiment Ⅰ, Nikko Silica Sand No.5 was used.The soils were arranged four times by scattering dry sand or wet sand. In addition to one-layerhomogeneous soils, two-layer homogeneous soils were arranged through densifying the sand of lowerlayer by oscillator excitations. For comparison, the soil was directly pored without using the developedapparatus and the vibrating screen. In the experiment Ⅱ, Nikko Silica Sand No.3 & No.7 were used. Thesoils were arranged controlling traveling velocities of sand scattering system. The quality of the soils wasevaluated as relative density determined by samples by in-situ freezing method. From the results ofexperiments Ⅰ and Ⅱ, the proposed method can apply both wet sands and dry sands and can makehomogeneous one-layer and two-layer test soils. There is possibility of controlling relative densities bychanging the traveling velocities of the sand scattering system.
