To estimate soil-structure interaction (SSI) effects in two instrumented buildings different models areexplored. Both system identification and analytical methods are used to calculate stiffnesses andfrequencies associated with SSI effects. The later include procedures from the Mexico City building codeas well as commercial software by mean of which piles group effects are also considered. Experimentaldata from two of the most significant and recent earthquakes recorded in the buildings are analyzed andcomparisons suggest interesting conclusions about analytical considerations and actual behavior of thebuildings and theirs foundations.
