摘要

Routinely check for the maintenance of Digital Road Map (DRM) a time consuming andcostly task. In this paper, real world probe data from 915 taxis equipped with GPS andcommunication systems are used to estimate geometric characteristics of urban streets forDRM maintenance. Firstly, a characteristic analysis of probe data distribution correspondingto different types of urban streets is carried on to categorize the streets, according to thecritical statistic parameters. Based on this, algorithms can be then developed to estimate streetgeometric characteristics automatically utilizing probe vehicle data. Case studies are finallyprovided as an evaluation of the proposed algorithms.
