The rupture and the damage processes at cryogenic temperature of an extra low interstitial Ti-6Al-4V obtained by powder metallurgy are investigated. The voids formation is analysed with the help of tensile interrupted tests on axisymetric notched specimens. Through SEM observations, it is attempted to identify the microstructural features that control the damage. Besides, FEM analysis has been performed to assess the local mechanical parameters which are known to act on the growth of cavities, such as cumulated plastic strain or stress triaxiality. As far as rupture is concerned, the FEM analysis shows that cumulated plastic strain and the maximum principal stress may be the relevant parameters.
