A new normalization method of the logging datum for identification the effective gas reservoir using the information of well logging and well testing was developed in order to solve some problems of exploration and development of gas in Erdos Basin. We also studied a method to reconstruct the characteristic curves of the effective gas reservoir with logging datum, and we also introduced a new way to estimate the production energy of the gas reservoir. The limitations of several techniques commonly used in evaluating the gas reservoir have been analyzed, and a new way to identify and evaluate gas reservoir is given mainly based on Density Log (DEN) Compensated Neutron Log (CNL) and Acoustic Log (AC), otherwise Natural Gamma Log (GR) and Spontane-ousness Potential Log (SP) used as restriction. Some well logging datum has been processed and interpreted with these methods.
