摘要

Integrated the results of geotechnical experiments, geophysical analysis and hydro geochemistry analysis of the stable and unstable area of the Awgu shale.The results show that bearing capacity, specific gravity, maximum dry density and optimum moisture content is 139KNm-2, 2.50, 1.94kgm-3, and 12.8% respectively, while the unstable section has bearing capacity , specific gravity, maximum dry density and optimum moisture content of 101kNm-2, 2.52, 1.79kgm-3 and 11.3% respectively.Hydrogeochemistry shows pH, magnesium, total hardness and conductivity to be 8.72mg/l, 123.2omg/l, 176mg/l, and 1272Us/cm respectively for unstable section while that of stable section show that 7.99mg/l, 14.4mg/l, 40mg/l and 107.1Us/cm for pH, magnesium, total hardness and conductivity respectively.The presences of magnesium-clay minerals have helped mobilize the soil mass by lowering the shear strength consequently bearing capacity in a saturated condition.
