This work develops an algorithm for predicting the motion of multiple vehicles moving across terrain. Original contributions of this work include the extension of an existing state-space model with such techniques as (1) the extraction of group knowledge from the data set and the integration of that knowledge into the model, (2) the incorporation of global inertia information to more accurately predict the direction of movement, and (3) the incorporation of terrain constraints so that sensor reports more accurately reflect reality. Initial experiments show that the proposed algorithm outperforms existing methods of prediction for multitarget terrain-based tracking.
