摘要

An overall method for real-time decision-control systems is described. This system overcomes the traditional AI constraints of speed and storage space, especially for small systems. The concept of critical situation is reduced to bit patterns that may be grouped and prioritized in order to mask incoming real-time input data and to trigger appropriate actions on the part of the agent/system. This notion of the dual role of data as passive information as well as containing action codes is referred to as being "content functional." Time constraints are also suggested for situations when stimuli will activate instructions or for situations when time might expire, resulting in no action taken. Possibilities for varieties of learning are also introduced.
